To add (create) an event, click on Events as Host in the left nav, and then click the Add Event button. If you are using a mobile phone, you may need to click the hamburger icon in the top left corner to see the left nav.
Enter the name and start time of the event, and press Save. You will then be able to configure your new event on the configuration page. Note: if you cannot find an event, click the Include ended events box.
These fields appear on the event home page. They can also be inserted into emails using macros.
Guests may not change any of their information, including their RSVP status, before the RSVP start time or after the RSVP end time - but hosts may. Make sure to check the Ends at time, as that is set automatically by Early Bird, and may not be what you want.
The description forms the body of the event page. Copy/paste or drag/drop small images into the description. For large images, add a link. You cannot change the background color, but you can change the color of text.
One of the most important event decisions is whether to allow guests to RSVP if they are not already entered into the event (an open event) or only allow guests you entered to RSVP (a restricted event). If you elect an open event, then anyone with the link to the event home page can RSVP.
Accepted guests allowed, if specified, will prevent more than the specified number of guests from accepting. Hosts are not subject to this limit.
Each guest may invite as many plus ones as specified in Plus ones allowed per guest. Plus ones cannot log in, so they cannot manage their attendance, select activities, or message other guests. Plus ones are not included in event communications. Hosts may add plus ones regardless of this setting.
When selected, guests may see the names of other guests both in emails and in Early Bird, but guest emails are never shared with other guests. You can limit the sharing to only accepted guest names, or allow sharing of guests who are undecided or who have declined. This overrides the sharing settings on email templates.
When selected, guests may message each other using Early Bird. Email addresses are not shared. If guests wish to share contact information using Early Bird, then they can use other forms of communication. Messages sent using Early Bird are send via email. Guests can opt out of receiving messages from other guests, but not from guests individually.
The user that creates the event becomes the first host, and that host's permission is Owner. The owner cannot be changed. To add another host, click Add Host.
The new host can either be a Manager or a Viewer. Managers can modify the event (except for modifying or adding other hosts - only owers can do that), but viewers cannot. Both receive event emails, such as emails when guests respond.
The Edit Host dialog is where you, as a host, can opt out of event emails.
